The adult leadership of Troop 73, Arden extends an open invitation of welcome to the families of boys age 11-18 in the South Asheville area.

Troop 73 is chartered by the Lutheran Church of the Nativity in Arden, NC, and is locally partnered with the facilities at Lutheridge. Lutheridge offers a 160 acre, wooded facility, conveniently located in Arden near the junction of Hendersonville Road and Airport Road.  Our charter organization, the Lutheran Church of the Nativity graciously provides meeting space to our Troop and Committee.

The Boy Scouts of America has enjoyed over 100 years of success here in America, but still remains relevant to today’s youth. The Boy Scouts of America was founded to provide a community program that offers effective character, citizenship, and personal fitness training for youth.  Today, the Boy Scouts of America endeavors to develop American citizens who are:

• Physically, mentally, and emotionally fit;
• Have a high degree of self-reliance as evidenced in such qualities as initiative, courage, and resourcefulness;
• Have personal values based on religious concepts;
• Have the desire and skills to help others;
• Understand the principles of the American social, economic, and governmental systems;
• Are knowledgeable about and take pride in their American heritage and understand our nation’s role in the world;
• Have a keen respect for the basic rights of all people; and are prepared to participate in and give leadership to American society.
• And certainly Scouting is fun! I like to think of it as fun with a purpose.
