Troop 73 at the 2010 Mountain Sports Festival
Saturday, May 29th

Troop 73 participates in the 10th annual Mountain Sports Festival.

What a great day – and a great start to Memorial Day weekend! After placing flags at the graves of our American heroes, Troop 73 joined in the fun at the Mountain Sports Festival at Carrier Park to promote scouting in our area. We had many families stop by to inquire about scouting. We offered candy right out of our dutch oven (no, we did not cook the candy) – and more importantly, cold water to cool off with. Over 90 people stopped by to have a cool drink – which made us feel great to be able to provide such a service to the public. In exchange for our booth space, the boys made the rounds every hour or so to pick up trash around the festival grounds. We’re very appreciative of Dusty Allison and Christen McNamara for allowing us this great opportunity to promote scouting! Thanks also to all those who came out to help out at the booth – it was a great event!!
